2.2 Junior High Observations

 INTRO: Wednesday the 6th and wednesday the 13th I observed classrooms in the junior high. 

First Junior high observation : I observed an 8th grade history class. The teacher started off the class by putting the objectives on the board and introducing out loud what they will be doing and doing a verbal review on the topics they have learned in class that week and the week before. Then she got them set up with an activity to do that required group work. After that they did some more review then they finished up a flip book activity. I liked that the class was so quiet and willing to learn and I love that the teacher was very loud and got her point across.

Second Junior High Observation : I observed an 8th grade literacy class. The class started off with some bell work and then some verbal vocab review. Then they did some short questions and reviews on the book they are reading. They took a short quiz on certain chapters of the book. The rest of the class they went over the book and some questions through class discussions. I liked that the teacher walked them through what they were doing and I like that she let them review the book through class discussion. 

Something I learned is the students learn and review better through class discussion.

In conclusion I had a very good time observing these teachers classrooms. 

2.1 High school

 I was so nervous to go and do my first observation. I didn't know what to expect or what to look for but, I eventually settled in and got to work. I observed a Spanish class and it was so fun to see the teacher teach. I really enjoyed being in her room and observing how she works. I especially liked how she interacted with her students instead of just having them do a worksheet.  I believe by observing her class I learned a few things about teaching. 😊
