3.2 Middle school observations

I did not get to do this observation sadly, I was sick with strep throat and my doctor told me to stay home. 

Middle school observation No. 2 Mrs. Patterson's class 5th grade math

For the first 20 or 30 minutes I was in her class it was her prep period and her kids were in art. When the kids came back she got them situated and then she introduced her lesson by having her kids watch a video she thought would help them as they went through and reviewed. The whole class period was mostly reviewed from what I saw. Mrs. Patterson would periodically stop and have them do something on their own and she would go around and help them if they needed. Mrs. Patterson's class was very good, they listened and they learned very well. 

3.1 Elementary Observations

 The past two Wednesdays I have gone to our elementary school to observe their teachers, I had lots and lots of fun observing how much care and fun these kids were experiencing. 

Elementary school observation no.1 Mrs. Reed's class 

I visited a kindergarten class for my first elementary observation, The teacher was nothing but nice to me and her students. She showed very good discipline in her class despite them being a little bit of a hand full but they are kindergartners after all so nothing against them. My teacher sat me at a table full of kids doing what she called "morning activities" as she pulled others for assessments. These kids got right to work knowing what they should do and how to do it. I am very impressed with the teacher and that class. 

Elementary school observation no.2 Mrs. Moser's class 

For my second observation I observed a first grade class. This teacher was also nothing but nice to me and her students as well. When I walked into her room her and the teacher in the classroom next to hers were having their classes do some friendly competition of phoenics between them. These kids were being called up in pairs- one from each class- to see who could right their word down faster. Both classes sat very quietly and very still as their fellow peers were competing. After they left I observed how the teacher reviewed their topics and then she got them started on a worksheet and other activities on their chrome as she pulled them for testing. These kids were wonderful they sat quietly and barely had to be reprimanded. 

I really enjoyed my observations in the elementary the kids were good and the teachers were amazing.

My biggest take away from this was that I might want to teach elementary students, I would use the layout of Mrs. Moser's room because I love how her desks are set in 2 desks together.
